I bet by the time you guys finished the first half of the series, we’ll already have a complete uncensored DragonBall manga release from Viz.
Naw, who am I kidding. We’ll never get that, cuz Viz chugs dicks.

Not up to this one yet (I’m only up to chapter 93) but I just thought to be the first one to comment on your undoubtedly great work. Also, I have a few questions, if you wouldn’t mind to answer:
1) I see that the translation is by molokidan, yet you do the scanning and typesetting yourself. Does this mean that you scan the original Japanese manga, get the translated text from molokidan, and replace the Japanese dialogue with English digitally? Or does it work differently?
2) Quite some time ago, I had read a few Shonen Jump hard-copy volumes of Dragon Ball, but couldn’t access any more. When I read your scans, they were pretty much the same, except for some names. Although I recall Launch and Krillin having their original Japanese names (Lunch and Kuririn) in the volumes I had read, I had never before seen Goku being spelt with 2 “U”s, Bulma being named Buruma, or Muten Roshi being spelt Muten Roushi. Of course I have no problem with this, but I was just curious, are these more accurate translations?
I really hope you have time to answer these questions.

@Wut: Uncensored? What is there to censor in this manga? Plus, if you print out my version it’s better than any other published version you can buy. Viz can kissmy ass (they’re not reading this right

@ puggsoy: As far as the text/typesetting is concerned that’s pretty much what I do, yeah. Of course there are other steps involved like rotating, leveling, resizing and cleaning. And I don’t have to scan it myself, fortunately.
We’re using the real names for the characters. It is spelled rōshi and gokū. The macrons indicate long letters, so they turn into “ou” and “uu”. Any other release just didn’t do that. I also wanted to go with the names that most people know, but molo was pretty adamant about it. He’s the pro so I go with what he writes.

I guess you aren’t familiar with Viz’s practices. They censored quite a bit.
Like Mr.Popo’s lips for example.

I’ve heard one time that there is a heavily edited anime version of one piece, where they all drink juice for example. And smoker doesn’t smoke.
But I’ve never read a viz scanlation/version.
And the german version of DB isn’t censored as far as I can remember. At least not Mr. Popo. Then again, we also have this here http://picture.yatego.com/images/484413f11c3291.2/Schipper_Premium_Sarotti-Mohr.gif
So I don’t know if Popo is a good indicator *gg*

The heavily edited version of One Piece that you are referring to is the 4Kids USA dub, and it is probably even worse than you can imagine. It pretty much ruined One Piece for an entire generation of kids in the US.

Hey Feanor! Love you’re work! Watched dragonball as a kid but only started reading the manga a little while ago and came upon your high quality scans! They are the best I’ve seen for dragonball:) so congrats to you ! I was just hoping you could tell me when your next scan would be coming out? Sorry! I just can’t wait
